The Original Bowen Technique, as devised by founder Tom Bowen can be described as a series of specific moves over muscle and soft tissue (fascia) to help realign the body.

These moves are designed to adjust tension levels and stimulate the body’s own healing powers to re-balance and restore health.  In this way, Bowen differs from physiotherapy and other modalities, which often involve physical manipulation to address muscle strain, injury or relieve pain. Depending on the needs of the individual 2-3 sessions can sometimes resolve the problem or alternatively, the therapist will advise a series of visits to manage a more complex issue.  This gentle, non-invasive treatment is suitable for all from babies to the frail elderly.

A typical Bowen session generally lasts from 45 to 60 minutes. Clients usually lie on a massage table or may be seated in a chair if required, for comfort. A session involves one or more procedures, each of which consists of several sets of moves. The moves are gentle and can be done through light clothing.  A characteristic of Bowen therapy is the unique ‘pause’ feature when the practitioner will often leave the room allowing the body to respond in its own time, in between moves.

Access Bars Therapy is a relaxing and nurturing process that unlocks 32 energy centres and bars, located on the head, by lightly gentle hand touch. This process begins to release the electromagnetic charge or polarity of the thoughts, feelings, emotions, ideas, beliefs, considerations and decisions as it is stored in your brain. Access Bars Therapy rebalances the mind and body, releasing common blockages and allowing our minds to revisit issues of money, health, kindness, creativity, communication, control, gratitude, pleasure, and dreams. Therapy brings the mind and body into balance. It gives you a clearer view of reality by slowly eliminating negative thoughts that cloud your mind; allows you to enjoy certain things again by helping you identify problem areas in your life that lead to anxiety and depression; and helps you address your own problems. Access Bars therapy is believed to have a range of benefits, including deeper relaxation and improved sleep. It may also help individuals manage depressive and anxious tendencies, shift negative thought patterns, and improve overall well-being.
